It always has seemed to me like September was more like the start of a ‘new year’, as opposed to the more traditional January. September marks the end of the lazy, hazy days of Summer here where we live… in the north east section of these United States! Once Labor Days arrives we experience such things as the closing down of the pool and related summertime activities, and we near the end of the intense gardening season. In some areas the new school year can begin mid or late August, but by September everyone is settled in. Even if you don’t have kids in school you can still be affected by school year traffic patterns throughout the day on the roadways and even in the grocery stores. And for those with school schedules, each grade level brings new challenges and it takes a few weeks to get a good pattern going. Since I love a little comedy break at the end of the day, the new Fall TV show lineup is something I really look forward to, but that also means adjusting our family pattern of what to watch or record, and when. That usually entails intense negotiation skills and a well plotted DVR!
All this and yet September somehow offers a short break and allows you to refocus and settle in to these new patterns before the looming holiday season kicks in to full gear. The days quickly get shorter and make way for longer, cooler evenings. This all serves as a reminder that it is also a perfect time to re-evaluate your business practices and marketing tools. It could also be a time for a change in some of the systems you have in place to streamline your time management. Perhaps it is the perfect time to hone your organizational systems and refresh your tool box for success with your MLM or side business.
Don’t be restricted by what worked or didn’t work in the past. Be open-minded and think outside your box. Try new things and rethink old patterns! Revisit relationships or leads that didn’t have a good fit in the past. Reach out, up, over or down and team up with like-minded individuals for support and inspiration.
