Truth be told, I love Halloween! Everything from the colors the Fall season, to a slice of pumpkin pie, a sip of (maybe spiked?) apple cider, an Oktoberfest celebration and even decorations with Jack-o-lanterns, witches, skeletons and… spiders just make me smile! Image may be NSFW.

Yes, spiders! Generally, I am not really a big fan of most bugs but the real reason I like spiders is because just the thought of them makes my husband go running from the room, screaming like a small child. Ha, I love it! I always hang a giant spider right by the TV, so he can’t miss it!
What I don’t especially love about this time of year is the start of shorter days and the looming holiday season. It often brings on a bit of… stress! We busy folks manage to get it all done but at what cost? And are you the one who pays the highest price in your household?
Take some time to sort out your tasks, prioritize your TO DO list in whatever your preferred mode of technology might be. That includes pad and paper, sticky notes, your computer or some program on it, electronic devices such as your phone, iPad or a tablet… whatever. There is no one answer and don’t let people tell you that there is. There is also no rule against using more that one system for different systems for different segments or groups in your life. And one more thing- don’t let people tell you that you can’t use sticky notes! If it works for you – it works!

As you think about being creative when you are carving that Jack-o-lantern, also be creative as you carve out your time. Don’t neglect your business or yourself. Carve some time out on a regular basis to do a little something for your business on a regular schedule. I was going to say “like it is a job” but it is a job! You need to invest in yourself and be consistent with your commitment. Slow and steady is better than choppy and sloppy! Stay healthy and energized by taking some ‘me’ time, being smart with your nutrition, exercise and even your sleep pattern! Happy Haunting. Go Spiders!
